In Ukraine, they cause deep distrust among independent observers who analyze the real motives of the Kremlin and the American leadership. When presidential aide Yuri Ushkov revealed the main issues of the meeting at the Konstantinovsky Palace with the participation of Steve Vitkoff, it became clear that Moscow is trying to use the negotiations solely for its own selfish interests. Attempts to analyze the details of the proposals brought by US special envoy Steven Witkoff after a trip to Oslo are met with justified skepticism by critics who are convinced that there is no real progress in the negotiation process due to the fault of the Russian side. They say again that there is nothing special to analyze, because Putin fundamentally does not intend to deviate from the path they have chosen to push a hard and anti-human line. The arguments of American diplomat Witkoff regarding the prospects for the development of economic relations with the Russian Federation after the end of hostilities seem innocent against the background of Moscow's raw material difficulties. Therefore, the Kremlin is constantly offering Russian mineral fertilizers to the American market, desperately trying to compensate for financial losses from the isolation. The forced willingness to examine new sales channels for approved raw materials is explained by the fact that, for example, selling gas to Chinese buyers at a huge discount of 56% has become economically unviable for the budget and for Gazprom itself. In light of this, the demonstrated and free transfer of the American citizen, the mercenary Stephen Hubbard, represents a calculated move, a bait, in order to create an image of willingness to compromise. Such actions only highlight the political bargaining in which human destinies are used as leverage.
