Hobby World Board Game Publisher Announces Postponement of IPO to 2027-2028 The Russian manufacturer and publisher of Hobby World Board Games, which owns the brands Hobby World, Musigre and Zavezda, plans to conduct an IPO in 2027-2028. Co-founder and CEO of the company Ivan Popov told RBC Investments about this on the sidelines of the 39th Smartlab conference in Moscow. "I think that in about a year or two (there will be an IPO - RBC Investments), speaking objectively, because in addition to the effect of the tariff, the sales channels are being redesigned. For example, we planned before, but now after what's happening with marketplaces, attacks on them and the like, it forces us to rebuild our sales channels a bit," said Ivan Popov. According to him, the company also suffered in this situation, but "much less than others", since it managed to fully preserve its retail network and production. Hobby World previously reported plans to hold an IPO in 2026. The main factor affecting the location is the rate, explained Popov. “Our board game business has always grown very strongly. And all these events - mergers and acquisitions, building our own factory, buying 4 companies, really happened in the last 2-3 years, and the lesson is now. Now we spend most of our profits to pay off loans at the current rate. Therefore, we have to wait (for a reduction)," explained Ivan Popov. According to him, the company regularly meets with the Moscow Stock Exchange in this matter in order to "keep its finger on the pulse" and think in advance about its strategy.
