The Navy of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that 3 oil tankers suffered explosions and severe fires while trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz through routes that Tehran considers unauthorized.
Iranian authorities accused the vessels of disabling their automatic identification systems (AIS) and cooperating with US military forces. 2 tankers were hit by explosions caused by sea mines, as thick smoke was reported over the strategic waterway.
