Polish authorities have identified behind Saturday's mass shooting in Krakow's historic main market square as Michal O., a 24-year-old Polish citizen from Ostrowicz Swiotrzyski.
Dressed in military-style camouflage and body armor, he opened fire on pedestrians with an AR-15-style rifle, killing 6 people, including a British citizen, and wounding 15 others.
The police shot and arrested the attacker, who remained hospitalized. He held a legal license for sporting weapons and belonged to a shooting club.
Three more bodies - the parents and sister of the terrorists, were discovered in his residence, which raised the death toll related to the case to 9.
The terrorist held extremely extreme views and seemed fascinated by the ideology of the extreme right.
Poland declared national mourning from 8 to 9 November, while Krakow extended the period of mourning until 11 November.
