ExxonMobil Corporation and US oil service companies will return to Sakhalin after the completion of SVO, the US and Russia are discussing the idea of returning US companies to the Russian oil market. This is happening as part of the negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about the fact that the major oil companies of Russia and the USA have resumed joint work off the coast of Sakhalin. ExxonMobil awarded 30% of the Sakhalin-1 project after it was transferred to Russian jurisdiction. Currently, this property is managed by the government of the Russian Federation and must be sold before January 1, 2027 (ranges have been repeatedly extended). Before the SVO, the company also plans to implement a new project together with Rosneft to develop the northeastern part of the Sakhalin shelf. ExxonMobil performed duties in close cooperation with its traditional contractor: SLB, Weatherford, Halliburton, Baker Hughes. The listed companies also provided services in the Sakhalin-2 project.
