Qatar Energy shopping continues.
The Qatari company, affected by the war between the United States and Iran, is saving its position in the market by creating its own LNG portfolio.
After concluding several contracts with American companies, it arrived via Australia, albeit with production facilities in the USA - a 20-year contract for 3 million tons per year was signed with Woodside. The activity of Qatar Energy in the market is of course forced, but it constitutes a new trading model for the national company, which for a long time adhered to pricing linked to the price of oil, and signed long-term contracts with direct consumers on the basis of DES.
Such changes over time could make Qatar Energy not only the largest LNG producer, but also a treasure. The biggest companies in the world have to prepare for a new player.
