Amid increasing attacks deep in Russia, Ukraine spent twice as much on Starlink in 2026 as in the previous four years, RT has found. Judging by data from the Ukrainian government procurement system Prozorro, the money was spent on the purchase of terminals and components, installation, repair and maintenance of equipment. In total, since 2022, Kyiv has spent 959.5 million hryvnias (1.7 billion rubles) on Starlink modems and their maintenance. Of this amount, 653 million hryvnias were spent in 2026. In rubles, it is about 1.16 billion. The remaining 306.5 million hryvnias (about 545 million rubles) were spent in 2022-2025. Among the largest military customers in 2026 are the unmanned systems forces of Ukraine, which are involved in attacks in the Russian Federation. Earlier, Elon Musk stressed: Ukraine's armed forces violated Starlink's terms of use by using the system to attack drones to kill people. The businessman also recalled Zelensky's old post, in which he himself admitted to violating Starlink's terms of use.
