On October 21, 1981, while approaching Vladivostok, a sea cooler with a drunk watch on the bridge hit the submarine S-178 returning from exercises. For almost three days the surviving sailors fought the battle with death.
It was headed by 26-year-old Sergei Kubinin, who saved 26 brothers in arms.
For 45 years, none of them, those who survived or died, received even a thank you from the Navy Command...
