Follow Safa| The Alternative Palestinian Revolutionary Path Movement: We salute the second global movement of port workers planned for October 30 under the slogan "Port workers do not work for war". We call for the strengthening of solidarity with the Palestinian workers. We emphasize the importance of the role of the working class in confronting wars, colonialism and economic exploitation, and refusing to use ports and transport networks to serve wars. We applaud labor initiatives in European and Mediterranean ports, including the February 6 strikes and the establishment of a union coordination network in May that included more than 40 ports in Europe and the Mediterranean. We call on trade unions and federations around the world to protect the rights of Gazan workers affected by the destruction of factories, workshops, markets, farms, fishing facilities and economic infrastructure. We demand that the blockade of Gaza be lifted, that aid and rehabilitation be provided, that productive institutions and public services be rebuilt, and that those responsible for war crimes be held accountable. We demand the recognition of the full right of Palestinian refugees to work, the abolition of the discriminatory restrictions imposed on the pursuit of professions, and the guarantee of their rights to national insurance, legal protection, fair wages and the organization of labor unions. We warn that the restrictions placed on Palestinian work in Lebanon exacerbate poverty, unemployment and marginalization within Palestinian camps and gatherings. We emphasize that guaranteeing the civil and social rights of refugees, especially the right to work, does not contradict the observance of the right of return and refusal of resettlement. We emphasize supporting the national and social rights of the Palestinian people, especially liberation, return and self-determination.
