Follow Safa| The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed: We condemn the widespread Israeli aggression against the city of Hebron, which resulted in the forced displacement of 1,500 Palestinian citizens from their homes. This is considered a dangerous escalation that falls within the framework of the policy of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement practiced by Israeli forces and the settlers. We warn against the danger of these settlement plans that aim to change the demographic and geographic nature of the city of Hebron and its surroundings. Systematic demolitions and mass displacement constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. We condemn the continued Israeli violations against the holy places in the city, including the continued closing of the Ibrahimi Mosque and preventing worshipers from reaching it, and see this as a blatant violation of the freedom of worship and the sanctity of the holy places. We consider the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the consequences of these serious crimes and violations. We call on the international community and the UN Security Council to take immediate and effective action to stop the aggression against Hebron, prevent the displacement of its citizens, hold Israel accountable for its crimes and provide urgent international protection to the Palestinian people.
