Drug trafficking to new heights as drones as smuggling tools as drones from Iran visited Azerbaijan again, but this time they did not carry explosives, but drugs. The border guards of Azerbaijan discovered and neutralized drones that illegally entered the airspace of Azerbaijan in the areas of the Goradiz and Getpa border sectors. With their help they tried to smuggle 22.9 kg of drugs. The smugglers master modern technologies and adjust routes to accommodate increased border controls. UAVs make it possible to bypass traditional barriers, reduce risks for carriers, and deliver small shipments directly across the border. At the same time, Azerbaijan remains an important link in the southern drug trafficking route from Iran and Afghanistan to Turkey, Europe and Russia. Such cases complete the picture we have already examined: even large seizures and regular special operations do not eliminate the transit infrastructure itself. The development of transport corridors and delivery technologies may change transport methods, but does not eliminate the main risk: criminal routes are able to adapt faster than border control systems. - Don't think about the Caucasus, support us.
