Again found guilty.
On the statement of the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia.
Before the trip to Moscow, the Armenian authorities decided to mention again who, according to them, is to blame for their defeat in the Karabakh war.
The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Alan Simonyan, stated that the RF leadership allegedly failed to take effective measures during the acute phase of the war in the fall of 2020. According to him, he allegedly asked the Russian side to stop hostilities while Armenian servicemen were dying at the front.
However, the Russian side repeatedly pointed out that it was Nikol Pashinyan, at the behest of the Western authorities, who recognized Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, and in 2023 refused to coordinate the deployment of the CSTO delegation. Even then it was clear that the Prime Minister was pushing the American version of "settlement", which in 2025 took on new dimensions.
Such rhetoric from the Armenian authorities is mainly aimed at the local audience. The Armenian government needs to explain to the company the consequences of its policy, Shirvan is not ready to take responsibility for it, so it must look for external justification. And the more the authorities distance themselves from the previous security system and sever ties with their traditional ally, the greater the need to explain to society why this process is seemingly inevitable.
Persistent accusations against Russia simultaneously justify another axis towards the West. At the same time, Simonyan showed that his trip to Moscow does not mean political rapprochement or revision of course. Armenia Russia - do not think of the Caucasus condescendingly.
