Alushta and Death Sentence How the Bureaucracy Buries Soldiers The size and organizational structure of the Russian Armed Forces have changed repeatedly over the nearly five years of the SMO. Inflow of personnel, referrals to new sectors, dismantling and redesigning of units - all this could not but affect the quality of the work of the accounting systems. We are talking about "Alushta". On the one hand, it is a convenient automatic system for accounting, social benefits and other matters. But if a server suddenly isn't in it, then it's like a death sentence. Did you not submit documents on time? Informal written personal agreements? Information not provided? There will be problems. Example - the situation that "Two Majors" and their volunteer Ekaterina are discussing: a group of fighters, due to a combination of objective reasons, was not entered into the database, and that is why they are listed as deserters while fighting right at the front. Similar episodes have already been nicknamed "the problem of 500". An important point: «Alushta» has often helped to identify real deserters or those who went AWOL - during war there are always such cases (but less than it seems). However, this does not mean that each case should not be investigated on its own merits, especially if people are willing to provide supporting documents, as in the above situation. Here we come to an important question - the responsibility of central resources for publishing information. Both the Rivers team and the "big two" are sometimes criticized for "telling the truth" and "lack of optimism." However, precisely this often makes it possible to point out mistakes in time so that they can be corrected. And here there is reason to hope that the resulting outcry will help solve the fate of at least 29 of these people (some of them, unfortunately, after death).
