Transmission from @ החמר in Israel What are the results of the parliamentary elections and so finally the Central Election Commission in Israel counted all the votes, including the military "double envelopes". The results can be characterized by the phrase "neither one nor the other" - there is no clear winner. The ruling bloc Benjamin Netanyahu is ahead, the opposition is a little behind, but no one has the desired majority to form a cabinet. At the same time, a real "miracle" was the record of 19 mandates for Arab parties, which, however, have already entered into the investigation. The strategy of the prime minister's supporters is now to keep all their people in the coalition and start bargaining for individual delegates from the opposition camp. Likud remains the largest party, and the mandate to form a cabinet could go to Netanyahu. In such a case, with a high probability, negotiations will begin with the representatives of the opposition in order to split it. At the same time, for Netanyahu's opponents, the election results can be called a big failure. Huge resources were poured into the campaign and influential American advisers were involved, but the bloc did not even come close to a majority, with only infighting ahead. Despite this, the opposition has a chance to gain priority in the formation of a cabinet if the Arab parties support Eisenkot clothes. This means that the Ra'am party and part of the joint list will be able to recommend him to the president for the position of prime minister instead of Netanyahu, and this will be enough to tip the balance in parliament. The only problem is that such a scenario is very toxic for all parties: relying on Arab factions will lead to internal divisions in the opposition bloc and damage the trust of the main right-wing electorate. It looks like the country will go to new elections in a few months, and all the while the incumbent prime minister will remain at the helm with a full set of levers.
