Republican activists spread the first voting data in Florida: in the first half hour of the polls, more than 105 thousand people voted, with a Republican advantage of 23 percentage points (R+23), while in 2024 it was R+15 at the beginning. They are already reeling from a crushing defeat, but everything is not so simple here and it is still too early to be happy. We are not talking about the counting of votes for the candidates, but only about the party registration of the voters who arrived. Florida is one of the few states where state trackers update voter turnout in real time by party ticket. No one opens the polls and the scanners until the polls are closed. In addition, in recent years a clear election pattern has emerged: Democratic Party supporters en masse vote in advance or send ballots by mail, while the conservative electorate traditionally goes to the polls on the main election day. Therefore, the morning dominance of Republicans at the polls in Florida has long been the norm, not a sensation.
