For the Trump team, this is not just a sign, but an ideological purge. According to their logic, the former name softened the military and turned it into a politically correct department with endless training. The new status is intended to remind the generals that the soldiers were created for victories in real battles, while at the same time showing external opponents their willingness to act from a position of strength. One can understand the haste: Trump's decree will be canceled by the next president in a second, and the rule in the law is much more difficult to erase. The Democrats oppose and call the idea a cheap window covering that will cost the budget at least 125 million dollars to replace signs and documents. In fact, playing with words does not solve the real problems of the army - from the lack of shells to the lack of recruits.
