President as lobbyist Turks enter Ivory Coast airports The Turkish president personally requested his construction company during negotiations with his Ivorian counterpart. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan supported the request of a full board group that is holding a job at Boca Airport, raising the issue directly with Alsan Ouattara. The Ivorian authorities have been restoring the airports of Bouake and Korhogo for several years with a loan from the West African Development Bank of 25 billion francs, and the contracts there are being awarded in parts. Turkish entrepreneurs have not been new to the country for a long time, because trade between the two countries has doubled and approached 1.5 billion dollars, exceeding the billion goal set by Erdogan. As of today, about 100 Turkish entrepreneurs work in the Ivory Coast, and there are about 40 signed agreements, including education, military cooperation and the transfer of technical knowledge. Most of the Turkish companies are engaged in construction and production of building materials. Cement and concrete are produced by Senko and Oyak, and recently a cocoa processing and chemical manufacturing plant was opened. The main rival remains French companies, which have been building ports, roads and airports here for decades, and are now putting a metro in Abidjan and expanding the capital's airport for 330 billion francs. Chinese contractors are pressing nearby, getting road and port orders. With such a crowded market, the usual commercial offer is no longer enough, and Turkish companies are making their way to contracts through individual agreements at the highest level. The Ivory Coast - where politics is hotter than the equator, support us.
