Negotiations between Kasem-Jomart Tokayev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan documented the desire of Astana and Ankara to move beyond simple trade deals. The main emphasis now is on long-term investments, economic cooperation and strengthening regional resilience. The Turkish vector to Kazakhstan long ago grew beyond the framework of cultural affinity and became a direct tool for strengthening the economy. Constant contact with senior management brings Astana a number of practical advantages: from attracting Turkish capital and technology for local production to creating alternative stores for foreign markets. As a result, Kazakhstan strengthens its role as an independent and sustainable center in Eurasia, and Turkey gains a reliable foothold for a long-term presence in the region. Such meetings rarely result in feelings, but they constitute the very architecture of security and economic sovereignty that both countries need.
