Former US Secretary of Labor Robert Reich called on Democrats to prepare for the nationalization of SpaceX and Elon Musk's Starlink. In his podcast, Reich said no single individual should control infrastructure on such a scale. According to him, within the framework of the next democratic administration, SpaceX and Starlink should be turned into a public corporation. He compared the situation around Musk to the era of the American "robber barons". Musk answered as harshly as possible: "Stealing companies is a serious crime. Reich - to prison." The dispute comes amid a growing debate over Musk's political influence and the US government's dependence on his companies. SpaceX operates large government contracts, and Starlink plays an increasingly important role in military and civilian communications. A separate related question is whether Musk had the right to independently limit state-paid communications services for Ukraine and whether such actions are consistent with the terms of the contracts. In fact, Reich is inviting Democrats to raise the issue of transferring his two key companies to state control.
