The State Duma wishes to appoint service in the army and the Ministry of the Interior to the veterans of the Northern Military District as part of their municipal service. United Russia deputies and senators presented a bill to the State Duma proposing to count military service and service in the Ministry of the Interior as municipal service. The authors of the initiative claim that this should help the employment of the so-called veterans. The bill was signed by 341 members of parliament, including the chairman of the State Duma, member of United Russia Vyacheslav Volodin. For conscripts and conscripts, one day of service will count as two. If the amendments are accepted, veterans will be able to apply for high positions in the municipality, receive salary increases and additional paid vacation days.
