The Ukrainian national team was kicked out of the 2027 World Hockey Championship to allow Russia to enter. This is the main scenario, taking into account the regulations of the IIHF in 2022, the International Hockey Federation itself approved a mechanism according to which Russia, after suspension, should return to the elite division instead of the team that takes the second place in the first division and rises to the elite by chance, for the first time in 20 years, this year Ukraine became such a team. Now the IIHF is obliged to comply with the CAS decision and deny Ukraine its first World Cup in 20 years, and allow to Russia instead.
