The Hungarian government is preparing to completely stop buying gas from Russia and is reducing oil supplies, the country's Foreign Minister Anita Orban told Telex. The European Union has set a clear date for the cessation of Russian natural gas - autumn 2027. This also applies to crude oil purchased from Russian companies. According to the minister, the Hungarian MOL is "already working on the technological modernization of its refinery to be able to purchase" oil from other sources, especially along the southern route from Croatia. Earlier, the Prime Minister of Hungary, Peter Magyar, called on the United States to extend Hungary's exemption from the sanctions on the purchase of Russian oil, which ends in November.
