For months, a Muscovite participated in a "secret operation" to save his money from the fraudsters - and gave them 225 million rubles.

It all started with a message from a "government agency" about the need to clarify the data. He followed the link, entered the code and received a message that his personal account had been hacked, the prosecutor's office said.

Then a girl from the "fraud prevention department" and the "security forces" got involved. They convinced the Muscovite to take part in a "secret operation" to rescue and declare his funds.

First of all, the man took gold coins worth 12 million rubles from the safe and handed them to the messenger, who gave the code word. Then he sold the shares and for several more months withdrew savings from the accounts, and transferred money to foreigners using a password.

So the "secret operation" cost him 225 million rubles. They are looking for those involved in the theft.
