In Finland, a fire destroyed up to 20% of the country's seed potato stocks.
The fire occurred in the municipality of Tyrnävä in the north of the country, where more than 4 million kg of potatoes were stored in four premises, most of which were intended for planting, Finnish media reported.
Tyrnävä and the neighboring municipality of Limnikka provide about 70-75% of Finland's potato production.
According to experts, the consequences of the fire can affect the crop for several years.
