This is going to be a trip of a lifetime. Long-haul cruise passengers left behind in Cambodia The liner Villa V Odyssey left Cambodia on the morning of November 4 without passengers who had paid tens of thousands of dollars for the chance to live aboard for years. More than 200 people were previously forced to disembark at Sihanoukville after the operator stopped operations, Reuters reported. ◾ For some travelers, the ship was their only home. Retirees Paul and Lynn Montoya of Wyoming told FOX 13 they sold their house, cars and almost everything they owned before coming on board. They moved into their cabin in April 2025 and expected to live on the ship for at least four years. Within a year and a half, the couple managed to visit 50 countries. ◾ Another client, former teacher Lisa McKay, has not yet boarded the ship. She used her pension savings to pay for the trip and planned to board the plane in Kuala Lumpur on November 15. Now the woman is afraid she won't be able to get her money back. ◾.
