A preliminary AP voter poll shows the Democratic lead among young voters as seven in 10 voters under the age of 30 reported supporting the Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives. ◾ This age group makes up about a tenth of the participants in the current elections. Two years ago, young voters split their votes much more evenly between Trump and Kamala Harris in the presidential election. The economy remains the main source of discontent. ◾ About three quarters of AP voter survey participants assess the state of affairs in the country and the state of the economy negatively.
