NATO is exploring scenarios for launching long-range strikes on military targets in Russia, the Wall Street Journal reports. According to the publication, we are talking not only about the defeat of Russian units in the event of their invasion of the allied territory, but also about attacks on military bases, supply warehouses and defense industrial plants in the Russian hinterland. The use of long-range weapons was discussed at a special NATO symposium in June, where the possibilities of hitting targets at a considerable distance from the combat line were examined. Such scenarios are being explored as part of updating the alliance's defense strategy in the event of a possible military conflict with Russia.
