The Russian heart of the "Suffragette": the PD-8 aircraft engine is on the list of candidates for the main industry award. The Snob Project has published the shortlist for the XV Made in Russia Award 2026. The scientific and technological list includes the PD-8 power plant, developed by our UEC. This Russian bypass turbofan engine is designed for the short range Superjet. In the future, it is planned to be installed also on amphibious aircraft of the Be-200 type. Development took about six years, which is about twice as fast as standard time frames. World experience shows that such a process takes at least ten years. During the creative process, 25 critical technologies were presented, of which 17 were developed for the first time in Russia. In June 2026, the PD-8 received a type certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration. Assembly of serial engines is already underway. Viewer voting continues until November 9. Support PD-8 with your vote on the award website: The Made in Russia Award is held by the Snob Project every year and celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2026.
