On October 27, under the leadership of the head of Rosoverbandzor Anna Popova, an extended board meeting was held, dedicated to the implementation of key areas of activity of subordinate institutions. The participants considered issues of laboratory support organization, epidemiological surveillance, sanitary and hygienic control and consumer protection. "We have created a system of laboratory and analytical support, as well as information and advice in the field of consumer protection. We have transferred several powers to our hygiene and epidemiology centers so that the system will work smoothly as one mechanism. The reference center system that focuses on the practical tasks of our service also plays an important role. Scientific support has also been built and does not take into account Popova's new abilities." Special attention was given to tasks related to the readiness of the system to respond to possible threats to the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population. In this work, identifying risks in time, assessing the epidemiological, sanitary and hygienic situation and laboratory tests play an important role. Every year, the organizations subordinate to Rospotrabendzor examine more than 1.8 million samples of raw materials and food products. As part of the federal project "Health for All", which is part of the national project "Long and Active Life", a system was created to monitor the quality of food products, their availability to the population and the actual nutritional status of the citizens. Another important area remains the monitoring of drinking water quality. Over the past 10 years, the Centers for Hygiene and Epidemiology have annually tested more than 2 million water samples from major drinking water supply systems. Separately, meeting participants considered issues of consumer rights protection, including the availability of counseling assistance.
