One of the most historically significant treasures stored in the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation (RGANTD) is the 1961 documentary "First Man's Flight into Outer Space". This video contains footage filmed with the direct participation of the creators of the legendary spacecraft. The workshop where engineers assembled Vostok, the classrooms where the first cosmonauts trained, and the preparation of the rocket for launch itself. All of this comes to life on screen 65 years after the historic breakthrough. RGANTD carefully preserves not only film reels, but also numerous photographs, instrument drawings, phonograms of the first cosmonauts' negotiations and speeches by Sergei Korolev. Today, the archive is actively digitizing its heritage: over 51 thousand files from 10 federal archives are already available to users.
