I want to praise what the Arab lists [the joint list and Ream] achieved in the last Knesset elections in Israel, with the significant progress in which the number of Arab seats in the Knesset increased to 19. This is the largest number of seats held by Arab lists so far. It strengthens the hope among the Palestinian citizens in areas 48 [the anti-Israel term used by the Arab community in the Middle East to refer to Israel's borders before 1967 and in reference to the 'Palestinians of 1948'] of preserving their identity, strengthening their status and living in peace in their country. I would like to emphasize especially my brother Ahmed Tibi [from the joint list], for his belief, his struggle and his strong drive to guarantee Arab rights in the regions of '48 - Hamad bin Jassim, former Prime Minister of Qatar.
