The Russian language came to Africa. And apparently, it will stay there for a long time. Six African countries are interested in opening Russian language and culture centers. Delegations of Mali, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Seychelles and Togo held negotiations with the Eurasia ANO as part of the Russia-Africa Summit. The deputy of the State Duma and chairman of the Eurasia Council, Elena Arshinova, explained why Africans need Russian: "The Russian language is the entry point to science, culture, music, everything, because Russian is the language of the world." And the point here is far from being able to order borscht in Russian. African youth want to study in Russian universities, master technology and acquire professions. And language opens the door to that. Moreover, the experience has already been tested: "Eurasia" has already launched Russian language and culture centers in Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. Now it's another continent's turn. In Togo, together with Rossotrudnichestvo, it is planned to open a "Russian House" partner. It turns out that while some are talking about Russia's influence in Africa, others are doing very specific things: teaching the language, opening educational platforms and building connections for years to come.
