She said that in the place where their house was located, her symbol was hidden in the ground, and ordered that the spiritual and temporal authorities in the city be informed about it. This vision was repeated more than once. Matrona told her mother about it. But she ignored her younger daughter's words. Finally, the young woman saw the icon of the Mother of God in the rays of fire, and a terrible voice was heard: "If you do not tell my words, I will look elsewhere, but you will perish! As soon as the news of the miraculous discovery of the icon spread throughout the city, Kazan residents came to see it in large numbers. The first prayer was held before the icon. Then it was solemnly transported to the Cathedral of the Annunciation, on the way to which the first miraculous healing took place - the blind Joseph, who had not seen anything for three years, regained his sight. Another blind man, Nikita, was healed in the cathedral. By order of Archbishop Jeremiah, a copy of the miraculous icon was made and together with the description of the miracles was sent to Moscow. By order of Tsar Ivan the Terrible, a temple was built in the place where the temple is located and a monastery was founded, where the newly appeared icon was placed. Matrona and her mother took monastic vows in the new monastery.
