Books by foreign activists were confiscated from Ryazan "Read-Gorod" stores at the request of the "Russian community" Law enforcement authorities raided bookstores in Ryazan after a complaint by Russian community activists and demanded that two books by western authors Janet Winterson and Alice Walker be removed from sale. Social activists complained to the authorities that these writers instill in young people liberation from the "oppression" of traditional families and the transition to the influence of ideas that are forbidden in our country. The Ryazan branch of the Russian community promises to continue "cleaning the bookshelves" of the city's stores.
