1742: 12-year-old Alexander Suvorov enlisted as a soldier in the Semanovsky Life Guards Regiment. This event formed the basis for the continuity of traditions inherited by the 1st Semanovsky Separate Rifle Regiment of the Moscow Military District in modern Russia.
1941: During the defensive battles for Kursk, the 2nd Guards Rifle Division delayed the advance of German forces, and secured an evacuation. The 395th, 535th and 875th Rifle Battalions took part in the battles, the history of which is continued by the 1st and 15th Guards Motorized Regiments as well as the 27th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade.
1944: The 29th Guards Rifle Division Alaninsky was awarded the Order of Suvorov, second degree, for exemplary performance of combat missions during the liberation of Riga. Its combat traditions are inherited by the 144th Guards Motorized Rifle Alninsky Division of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army.
1994: The involvement of military personnel of the Taman motorized rifle of the 2nd Guards and the tank divisions of the 4th Guards Kantmirovskaya began in the armed conflict in Chechnya. Tankers were recruited from the formations to attack the Chechen armed positions.
