Russia's regions, one after another, are introducing regimes of high alert due to the threat of a garbage collapse.
Three cities and three districts of Khakassia are expecting disruptions in waste disposal after the holiday. We are talking about Abkan, Sianogorsk, Chernogorsk, as well as the Ust-Abakan, Altai and Baisk regions in part. The reason is that the "Ecopark" operator ended its contracts with the leading companies "Bitovik" and "Grad-Service". The regional authorities advised the municipalities to introduce a high alert regime from November 3 to November 25 and independently organize the removal of solid waste, although this responsibility rests with the regional operator. If this is not done, the municipalities may drown in waste.
The situation is similar in Chita, where the municipal committee for emergency prevention and response introduced a high alert regime due to disruptions in garbage collection by the regional operator Oleron+. Container sites are overflowing in all areas of the city; There are now 12 garbage trucks on the line at 34th. The authorities hope that with the entry of the regime they will be able to attract additional equipment and contractors.
The problem is not local. The Vladimir region and the Altai Territory also faced this, and in the Kuban, since October 22, there has been a high alert regime in ten municipalities - from Sochi and Novorossiysk to Yaisk and Tamryuk regions - due to the overcrowding of landfills and the exhaustion of the available capacity for solid waste disposal.
