According to the joint press service of the regional courts, Nikolai Peschakin signed an act of acceptance of work, which contained unreliable information about their application. The document also noted that the underlay has a layer of non-woven synthetic material.
As a result, the damage to the budget of the Trans-Baikal Territory through the Regional Ministry of Natural Resources was estimated at 20.8 million rubles.
Nikolai Peschakin himself did not admit guilt either during the investigation or in court. However, the court considered the evidence sufficient and issued a verdict under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for abuse of official powers.
In addition to the imprisonment, the former deputy minister was banned for two and a half years from holding positions related to government representative positions, organizational, administrative and economic powers.
Also, the court accepted the full civil claim of the regional office for natural resources. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
