A PET bottle processing workshop was closed in Novorossiysk. The Darom Neki project has stopped its activities, said its director Sergey Shmerav. In the workshop, sorted plastic bottles were crushed and the resulting raw materials were sent for further processing. Schmerev says that several problems existed at the same time: there was not enough local collection of bottles, so waste had to be additionally purchased and brought from other areas. The fuel crisis sharply increased transportation costs in the Moscow region. The factory that received crushed plastic was temporarily shut down after the fire. About 80 yellow plastic containers remain in Novorossiysk. The manager explains that such a commission was not enough to fully exploit the production, and the costs of rent, transportation and salaries only increased. The closing of the workshop does not mean that all separate collection in the city has stopped. The organizer of the "Plastic Hour" campaign, activist Alexander Murkhodov, said that a search is now underway for other recyclers. In February 2026, a factory in Kurgan that was supposed to process plastic from all over the Urals was closed. Recycling in Telegram | up to MAX.
