Why is recycling spiders far from a "sustainable solution" and collecting glass often does not pay for itself? We analyzed the fifth edition of the Obertor Impact Report. We will tell you why this is more interesting than many other reports. Its main difference is that the company is not limited to successes, but also explores directions that have not yet come to fruition. The collection of glass in the report was a clear example of how the environmental logic differs from the market economy. The material can be processed many times without loss of quality, but it cannot be pressed, and the processing ability is concentrated only in certain areas. Because of this, logistics eats up the collection economy, and the direction without EPR rates turns out to be unprofitable. A very interesting case with spiders for food. In 2025, 976 kg of such packaging is recycled, but not for new raw materials, but for polymeric sand tiles. The report itself calls this an "unsustainable solution" and a decrease in turnover, but at the same time "the only possible one". The situation is similar with polystyrene egg trays. To process them nationwide, raw materials will be required for about 40 smelting stations. This clearly shows that the problem is not only in collection, but also in the lack of necessary infrastructure. Recycling in Telegram | up to MAX.
