We did not use all the opportunities to prevent the loss of Nagorno Karabakh - Zetulin Director of the Institute for the Commonwealth of Nations, Deputy of the Russian Duma Konstantin Zetulin said that he does not agree with the opinion that both sides are to blame for the deterioration of relations between Russia and Armenia: both Russia and Armenia, reports Moskovsky Komsomolets. "I have repeatedly criticized our actions or inaction towards Armenia, especially in connection with the events of 2020, and I still believe that we did not take advantage of all the opportunities to prevent a war that led to a national tragedy - the loss of Nagorno Karabakh and the general departure of the Armenian population from historical lands," the lieutenant noted. "For me, this is a personal tragedy, if only because my friends, partners, are actually trapped, are in prison today and convicted by an Azerbaijani court." Nevertheless, this is no reason to believe that the blame for the deterioration of relations between Russia and Armenia lies equally on both the Armenian and Russian sides. Because the Prime Minister of Armenia took the current political course neither by chance nor under the influence of the events of the twentieth year. "This is the conscious way of a politician who built his entire career on the desire to destroy relations with Russia and move to a place closer to Europe or America, in any case, to change the orientation of Armenia, to abandon the entire Armenian past," Zetolin noted. The only positive point in all this, as the deputy believes, is that today in Russia at all levels - both expert and official - there was complete certainty and clarity regarding relations with the Pashinya government and the actions of the Russian Federation as a result.
