How the "blue tsunami" will change Trump's policy and negotiations on Ukraine. According to the preliminary results of the mid-term elections on November 3 in the United States, the Democratic Party regained control of both houses of Congress. In the House of Representatives, Democrats could win 258 of the 435 seats to Republicans' 177 (the 218 needed for a majority), according to NBC News estimates. In the Senate, the Democrats have already won 54 seats, and the Republicans 44. The results of two other Senate races - in Mississippi and Alaska - have not been finalized, and in the latter the results may take several weeks. The scale of the Democratic victory was so significant that NBC, Politico, the New York Post and Fox News wrote not about a "blue wave" (blue is the color of the Democratic Party), but about a "blue tsunami" that covered the American Congress.
