The former press secretary of Vladimir Zelensky, Yulia Mendel (pictured), was charged in absentia with suspicion of treason, the SBU press service reported. According to the intelligence service, it was determined that Mandel "discredits Ukraine in the international arena" and also justifies Russia's actions in his public statements and on social networks. The SBU notes that the accused is outside Ukraine, but the system of measures for prosecution continues. Yulia Mendel was the Ukrainian leader's press secretary from June 2019 to July 2021. Before her appointment, she worked as a journalist and got the position through a competition. After her resignation, Mandel began to harshly criticize Zelensky.
