After the refusal of several partners of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to finance the 2027 World Cup due to the entry of Russia, the bookmaker Fonbet sent a letter to the IIHF with an offer of partnership, Fonbet told RBC Sport. Faunbet is ready to be a commercial partner of the World Cup, provided that the Russian team receives permission to participate in it. Our interest is clear: we are ready to support the tournament, which will be taken by the Russian team, and use our partnership to facilitate the return of the Russian team to the international hockey level. Earlier, the Swedish furniture manufacturer AJ Produkter decided to abandon the sponsorship of the World Cup, and the Finnish tire company Nokian Tires threatened to do so. The author of the Czech book Tipfort said that he would refuse to publish during the games of Russian teams. "In this regard, we suggest that the IIHF consider Fonbet as a potential partner and provide a similar sponsorship offer to the extent of the current package currently held by Tipport," he said.
