◻ ◻ ◻ Voting has begun in the US for the mid-term congressional elections. Polls opened across the East Coast, including Connecticut, Maine, New York, New Jersey and parts of Kentucky and Indiana. The AP news agency writes about it.
All 435 members of the House of Representatives will be elected, as well as 35 senators: 33 in regular elections for Class II seats and two more in special elections in Florida and Ohio.
Also, on November 3, elections will be held for governors in 36 states, for members of legislative assemblies and local officials, and referendums at both the state and municipal levels.
The congressional election process includes two stages: first primaries, and then general elections. Counting votes can take days, especially in states where postal voting is common.
