The "cleansing" of the Olympic movement continues. After the last admission campaign, the Ministry of Education and Science is working to reduce the flow of applicants to universities through the Olympics. The general list has already been shortened (60 Olympiads instead of 83) and the BVI benefit for winners has been abolished. Now the ministry proposes to hold university olympiads according to the same stringent requirements as the united state exam. The head of the Ministry of Education and Science said in this regard: "One of the principles we proposed - and all colleagues support - is that the university Olympiads will make a standard equivalent to the standard of the All-Russian Olympiad for school students, and will hold them according to the same strict requirements as the one organized by the United State exam." That is, the ministry questions the current standards and their quality. In addition, there is a feeling that they want to leave in the past "general" Olympiads, in addition to VOSS, so that each (top) university will have its own list of Olympiads. We are getting closer and closer to the return of a semblance of entrance tests, and at the same time new barriers to entry.
