The stationary building will assist tourists in organizing travel services, as well as provide information in an accessible format about visiting museums, restaurants and attractions of the city and the region. The head of Vologda, Sergey Zhestyannikov, noted the importance of the tourist information center for the city - especially in light of the preparations for the status of the New Year's capital of Russia and the celebration of 880 years of Vologda. According to him, in 9 months of 2026, the city received 800 thousand tourists, and tens of thousands more guests are expected for the New Year holiday. He thanked Governor Georgi Filimonov and his colleagues for their support in the region, stressing that it was the result of joint work. About 8 million rubles from the city budget were allocated for the construction and equipment of the facility, in addition to federal and regional funds.
