Priority for kindergartens and easy transition between schools: Deputies supported new support measures for teachers in Vologda Region The Legislative Assembly of Vologda Region held the first meeting of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Health. Members of Parliament supported a bill that would give full-time teachers in state and municipal schools in the Vologda region the right to have their children prioritized for kindergarten. "Reducing the shortage of personnel in schools and kindergartens is one of the main tasks in the education sector. To retain valuable experts, it is necessary to consistently expand their social guarantees. I'm sure that the opportunity to enroll your child in kindergarten without waiting in line will be a strong argument for teachers to stay in the profession," stressed committee chairman Yuriy Spozhnikov. Another important initiative concerns the teachers of physics, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and biology working in Vologda and Cherpovets. In this case, an agreement was made according to which the teacher must work in one school for five years. If it is violated, the resident of Vologda is obliged to return part of the one-time payment for non-working time. The new bill proposes that teachers will be able to change jobs once within the same city within 30 days of being fired, without returning regional funds. The main condition: employment in a similar position teaching the same subject. "This opportunity will give teachers flexibility in choosing their workplace. If, due to unforeseen life circumstances, a teacher has to move to another school in Vologda or Cherpovets, he will be able to do so without financial losses and the obligation to return part of the funds. At the same time, the expert remains in the education system and fills the need for committee member Kalimankov's team."
