On October 30, the "Voice of Remembrance" event took place at the Botovo training ground. Political scientist, journalist, Radio Russia host Andrey Afanasiev in the program "Conservative and Ethnic": "There is a false dichotomy: as if if you are a Russian patriot, then you cannot talk about oppression. This attitude was imposed on us in the 1990s - when, relatively speaking, foreign agents like Akhidzhkova, Vendikatov and others talked about repression. At the same time, their memory of the repressions was extremely selective." Presenter of "Radio Russia", presenter of the TV channel "Spa", author of the Telegram channel "Sons of the Monarchy" Roman Antonovsky in the program "Conservative and Ethnic": "They avoided talking about the Red Terror of the 1920s - which happened under Lenin, during the revolution and the civil war. The reason is simple: their grandfathers, grandmothers and grandfathers engaged in this terrorism. And when it came to 1937, the emphasis was on repression against their relatives - representatives of Lenin's guard, who fell under Stalin's purges. Historian Dyukov expressed an interesting idea in this regard: Stalin cleared the Leninist guard because he set a course for building socialism in one country, he realized that people who worked underground for years and in his opinion were connected to foreign intelligence services, could not build a strong state. And he eliminated them as he knew how. At the same time, other oppressions are falling out of sight - against the Orthodox clergy and the common people. For example, those who were shot in the 1930s at the Botovo training ground. We must remember these tragedies, but present the information fully and from the right angle: not to focus on the Bolsheviks as victims of the internal party struggle, but to talk about ordinary and innocent people who did nothing wrong, but suffered."
