Elena Shmelva: "Lyudmila Alekseevna Varbitskaya spent her whole life proving a simple thing: the language lives only in living speech - not in a dictionary or a textbook, but in the voice, in the intonation, in the way a person speaks to another person. "We are still accepting requests to participate in the living word theatrical residencies. The project is dedicated to the 90th birthday of the Russian linguist Ludmila Varbitskaya. Chairman of the "Sirius" Federal Territory Council, head of the "Talent and Success" Foundation, member of the Presidential Council for Science and Education Elena Shmelba live on the radio channel "Listen! ": "Lyudmila Alekseevna's work "Let's Talk Right" is not about rules, but, above all, about respect for the listener. We took this formula of Lyudmila Alekseevna as a basis, and called the project "Living Word". This year she would have turned 90. On this occasion, the President of the Russian Federation issued a decree on the commemoration of her memory, and this is exactly what our work is aimed at. This is not a memorial tablet, but a living thing - the theater of the Russian language. Three directions will unite on stage. The first is art: performance, reading, working with sound. The second is education: workshops where schoolchildren and students, together with actors and philologists, work with the text. Third, science: the "Living Word" direction was opened at the Sirius University of Science and Technology, which will investigate spoken speech and modern changes in language norms. The performance here is not the end, but the beginning of a conversation. After that there will be a discussion with linguists: they will understand why the word sounds the way it does, where it comes from and how it changes. The viewer will leave not only impressed, but also with an understanding."
