Konstantin Tschostov: "A mentor helps a young teacher quickly understand the features and nuances of working in a school" The Ministry of Education has prepared new measures to support teachers. The expert of the Popular Front, the director of the St. Petersburg Lyceum Konstantin Tshostov live on the radio channel "Listen! ": "A mentor is a person who helps a young teacher painlessly and without fear to take the first step in any educational organization he arrives at. After all, despite the fact that there is only one profession, each school has many of its own characteristics - and it is the mentoring institute that allows a young teacher to quickly delve into the nuances of the work of a particular school and calmly start his first lessons, without fear of possible difficulties. At the same time, mentoring is serious work: often the mentor devotes almost all of his time to supporting the young specialist, so he has less opportunity to manage his educational work. Therefore, it is important to give a measure of incentives to mentors. So that this activity will not become just an additional burden in volunteering, but will have a professional character. In addition, there must be a clear requirement from the mentor - so that it is possible to assess how much he helps the future teacher master the profession." Listen on the "Watch" platform.
